Reasons to book
What people come in for
These are what people say when they call, not a list of what we treat.
Tightness in the neck, shoulders and back
The most common reason. People often want to try something gentler than they have tried before.
Headaches that come and go
People who keep a diary of when they come on often bring it, and we use it.
Sore hips, knees and feet
Often after a long stretch of standing, running or gardening.
Trouble winding down at night
Some people book for the quiet hour as much as for anything else.
A tired, unsettled stomach
We always ask what a doctor has already said.
Wanting a calmer body
No particular complaint, only a wish for a slow hour and to feel less wound up.
What acupuncture does not do, and when to see a doctor first
This does not replace your doctor or your medicines. Never stop or change a medicine on your own; talk to the person who prescribed it. Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, or the worst headache of your life.
See a doctor first for a new lump, a fever, unexplained weight loss, a fall or an injury, or pain that wakes you at night. We are glad to work alongside what your doctor advises, and we ask you to tell us what they said.
We do not diagnose illness. Your acupuncturist looks at your pattern: how you sleep, eat, tire and hurt, and what you feel when we press.
Tell us what brings you in
Say it in your own words at the first visit. You do not need to put it in a form.
