How fees work
Plain answers before you book. Call us if yours is not here.
Insurance we work with
We are out of network with most plans, so we do not bill your plan. If your plan reimburses acupuncture, we give you a receipt to send in, and the plan decides what it pays.
We do not bill your plan
A receipt for you to send in
Ask your plan administrator about an HSA or FSA card
If you pay yourself
You pay at the visit by card. The fee depends on which kind of visit it is and how long it runs. We tell you before you book, and it is the same for tools only as for needles. If the cost is a barrier, say so when you book.
Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit we email an itemized receipt that lists the date and what we did. Some plans may reimburse part of this receipt, which is called a superbill, and the plan decides. Before you rely on it, call your plan and ask these four questions.
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it cover?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance. Ask for it when you book and we send it before your first visit. If a bill comes in $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it.
Checking your benefits
Because we are out of network, we do not look up your benefits for you. Call the number on your card with the four questions above, and tell us what your plan says so we can fill in your receipt correctly.
What the first visit includes
About 60 minutes: a conversation, your pulse and belly, the tools, a few needles if you want them, and a plan for the next visits. Your acupuncturist explains the risks before any needle goes in. The fee for the first visit is on your estimate.
Questions about cost?
Call us before you book. We will tell you what a visit costs and how the receipt works.
